| “Sahaja”
means “born with you” or “spontaneous.”
Each of us is born with a potential energy that, once activated,
calms us down. This potential is shown as a coil in the triangular
bone (sacrum) in the diagram at right.
The result of practicing Sahaja Meditation is a feeling of relaxation
and peace. The meditation activates the parasympathetic nervous
system, which helps return all systems to “normal”
after overactivity or stress.
Some
people feel different sensations in parts of their hands, and
those sensations correlate with different qualities, such as
generosity, creativity and the ability to forgive. A cooler
sensation indicates that a certain quality is stronger. For
example, a cooler feeling in the thumbs means a strong, positive
creative potential.
Not only is it easy to learn the techniques of Sahaja Meditation,
it is easy to give the experience of the meditation to others.
A candle, once lit, can give light to any other candle.
